We are seeking a Senior UX Researcher who is passionate about understanding how technology can enhance the user experience in the high-tech construction industry. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and welcomes new challenges daily. The Senior UX Researcher will report directly to the VP of Product and play a critical role in improving the usability and functionality of our cutting-edge construction technologies.
What you will be doing:
- Conduct user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and preferences of construction workers, supervisors, and other stakeholders in the high-tech construction environment.
- Design and execute user studies, surveys, and usability tests to gather insights that inform the development and enhancement of our digital tools and solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and product managers, to translate research findings into actionable recommendations and design improvements.
- Develop a deep understanding of the construction work environment and users’ challenges when interacting with technology on-site.
- Visit construction sites to observe and document the work environment, processes, and interactions between workers and technology to provide valuable context and insights.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the construction field to ensure our products remain at the forefront of innovation.
- Prepare and deliver compelling research findings and insights to internal stakeholders and advocate for user-centered design principles.
Requirements:
- 3-10 years of experience in Product research, with a strong track record of conducting research in high-tech or industrial settings.
- A portfolio showcasing previous research projects and their impact on product development.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, focusing on usability testing, ethnographic studies, and surveys.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present research findings clearly and compellingly.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile or iterative development environment.
- Willingness to travel to construction sites, traveling 50% of the time (requiring proximity to a major airport with a maximum one-hour drive).
- A bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field is preferred.
